The Offspring Sell Song Rights for £24 Million

It is reported that The Offspring’s have sold the rights to their back catalogue, at a reported $35 million (£24 million) to a company called Round Hill.

The deal includes all of the American band’s content recorded for label Columbia, however Epitaph will retain ownership of early albums, including their best-selling release ‘Smash’ and ‘Ignition’, Billboard reports.

The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland has released a statement on the deal, saying:

“We felt that having the right caretaker for our catalogue, both the masters and the publishing, is incredibly important to the future of our career. Round Hill understands that we are continuing to perform and record and that the visibility of our past is critical to our future.”
